Welcome to Exploring Detroit’s Sculptures and Monuments - Hart Plaza to Campus Martius. I’m Dick Shafran and I’ll be your guide as we visit 23 important sculptures and monuments within walking distance of the city’s two most popular public gathering places. In this two-hour walking tour, you’ll learn about artifacts from as early as 1870 to some as recent as 2018. Our walk will shed a little light on Detroit and regional history and introduce you to masterworks of some of the most renowned artists in the world.

Our suggested path is a complete loop so take a look at our map and get yourself to any convenient numbered point to start. I’ll tell you all about the artifact you’re near and then let you know where to go next. And, if you see something interesting that isn’t on the tour, feel free to wander over and investigate.
