The valley was then enhanced by a route connecting Brittany with the Maritime area north of Gaulle. In the XVI century the little village faced number of tragedies including the Black Plague then a fire in 1740 which destroyed most of the village.
It was in the early 1960's that Val-de-Saâne was formed. The 4 villages Anglesqueville sur Saâne, Eurville, Thiédeville and Varvannes, following a decrease in population, united to become one and in 1964 they became Val-de-Saâne- a name given by the historian and storyteller Jehan Le Provremoyne.
The union oh these four villages boosted the development and life of the community.
In 1969 the town was awarded The Golden Cockerel and in 1999 it was awarded "Station Verte de Vacances" for its commitment to eco-tourism.
