The exposition of the residence of Judge General Vasyl Kochubei consists of several thematic sections and provides a variegated perspective of this historical building, discovers the personalities associated with it.
The exhibition starts with a hall that introduces you to the history of the construction and use of the building and estate from the XVII century. The exposition includes historical reconstructions and photographs, as well as original objects – locks and keys of the XVII-XVIII centuries.
Acquaintance with the owners of the estate begins with the personality of Vasyl Kochubei, the record clerk general and judge of the Zaporizhian Host. The family tree and portraits of individual family members represent the role of the Kochubei family in the history of the country. A separate part of the exhibition is dedicated to Samiilo Velychko, the author of the famous Cossack Chronicle. He also lived here.
The love story of Motria Kochubei and Hetman Ivan Mazepa is of the greatest interest to visitors, so a separate hall is dedicated to it. The Hetman's letters to his beloved take a central place in the hall. The exhibition presents pictures of Motria Kochubei, as well as works by contemporary artists – engravings by Vasyl Lopata and etchings by Serhii Yakutovych. The hall centerpiece is the icon of the Mother of God, which Hetman Ivan Mazepa presented to the Church of Zhovkva city in 1707.
The fourth exhibition hall introduces the last owner of the Kochubei estate, Vasyl Petrovych Kochubei. It presents the interior of the residence of the Ukrainian aristocracy of the early XX century. It is supplemented with family photos and letters.
