Ferry 'IJ-plein Veer' (Startingpoint)

Welcome to the great Waterland tour.
This tour starts and finishes behind Amsterdam Central Station on De Ruyterkade.It is about 35 kilometers long. Take the free blue-and white ferry, the 'IJplein-Veer', to the northern banks of the IJ. The ferry leaves, every 4 to 10 minutes. The crossing lasts about five minutes and you get a wonderful view of the expanse of water, the shipping traffic and the banks of the IJ. On Meeuwenlaan, let's turn right on the Nieuwendammerdijk.
