The catacombs under the West building at Lexington Market are so old that the city forgot about them. In 1951, when a parking structure was being built, workers were surprised to break into an underground tunnel, 100 feet long with multiple chambers branching off of it. Since so much of the history surrounding the tunnels are stories and personal accounts of various events, its only fitting that we take you down there ourselves-through sound-and share some of the interesting stories we found.
