In the heart of Amsterdam's vibrant city centre is one of the most surprising museums of the city: Our Lord in the Attic, a 17th Century residence with a complete church in the attic. Here you can experience the Dutch Golden Age in an extraordinary way. In the characteristic canal house narrow corridors and stairways lead you along living rooms, kitchens and bedsteads on the way to the hidden treasure of the museum: a Catholic house church. The church was built in 1663 by order of merchant Jan Hartman, at a time when public Catholic liturgies were forbidden. Today it is part of a wonderful museum,
