Chicago Union Station was built in 1925; it means that during the historical time of "The Untouchables" it was a brand-new facility. The central hall, with its glass vaulted ceiling, columns and marble cladding, was a site of large-scale shooting in the movie. Also the film "Naked Gun 33 ⅓" featuring the talented Leslie Nielsen was filmed here. Some critics believe that the scene in Union Station should be the conclusion, and that Brian de Palma made the finale too long.
