Over het museum

Cooch’s Bridge Historic Site includes the Cooch Homestead and the Cooch-Dayett Mill, and is the location of Delaware’s only Revolutionary War Era land battle.

The site is currently transitioning from private ownership to a public institution and is undergoing necessary preservation measures and renovations.

The site covers centuries of stories, including; the agricultural and industrial uses of the indigenous people, colonial settlers, the experiences of Black families both, free and enslaved, and the Cooch family who lived on the property for 7 generations.

This virtual tour has been brought to you by the Delaware Department of State, Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs.

Each exhibit includes photographs, a written narrative, and an audio play.

We hope you enjoy your virtual tour of our historic site and welcome you to visit once we are open to the public.
