The stump-tailed macaque inhabits China, Indochina and Myanmar. The tail is almost absent the face is red in the heat and blue in the cold. They tolerate the cold well enough and often roams the snow. It feeds on roots, fruits, leaves, insects, birds, mollusks, crabs and small animals. It leads gregarious lifestyle. The hunt is leaded by females. The gestation period lasts for 6-7 months. The female give birth to one youngster that is born white and later the colour darkens. The stump-tailed macaque reaches sexual maturity at the age of 2-3 years.
