About the museum

Pasternak House is the house of the factory manager in the village of Vsevolodo-Vilva on the territory of Perm region. The great poet, author of the novel Doctor Zhivago and Nobel Prize winner Boris Pasternak spent almost half a year here - from January to the end of June 1916.

Unfortunately, in the 1990s, the house was almost destroyed. But in 2005, the governor of the Perm Region Oleg Chirkunov supported the project of reconstruction of the Pasternak House, which was supposed to be a place of historical memory. And by July of 2006, the poet’s son Yevgeny Borisovich Pasternak laid the first cornerstone in the foundation of the house. Now the it is restored.

Today, when the Pasternak House museum appeared in Vsevolodo-Vilva, this village became recognizable on the touristic  map of  the Perm region. The local residents themselves honor this heritage, because the museum has become a real cultural center of the village, where excursions, different literary events and annual Pasternak readings are taken place.
