Bounded by Morden Hall Road, Morden Road and the railway line, the Park stretches from the marshy water-meadows of the north, to the wilderness, closer to the Southern boundary.
There are many entrances to the park, and this tour is designed to start at the entrance by the Surrey Arms on Morden Road. However, you can listen to the audio for any of the individual stops, in any order that you want, by using the play and pause buttons. If you are following the tour route, the audio will start automatically when you approach each of the stops, however please do stop and start the audio as you see fit.
The story of Morden Hall and Estate is the history of two families who held the Manor of Morden for 4 centuries. On his death in 1941, G.E Hatfield bequeathed the whole of his estate to the National Trust in order to secure it in tact for the benefit of future generations. It remains and island of tranquillity amidst a busy London suburb.
So, make sure you've got comfortable shoes on, and we will take you on a tour of the park, illuminating the rich history of the buildings we encounter along the way. To start, please go to the first stop on the tour.
