The skeleton of Indricotherium, a representative of hornless rhinos group, the largest land mammals that ever lived on Earth. On average, the Indricotherium weight was 10-12 tons so that it is more than two times heavier than African savannah elephant. This group of rhinoceromorpha was prevalent in Central Asia during the Oligocene, from 34 to 23 million years ago. Long neck and legs, as well as the structure of the teeth indicate feeding with leaves and branches of trees and bushes. The name "Indricotherium" is derived from the name of the fabulous beast of Slavic epos named Indrik.
