The De Havilland Canada Beaver is a six-seater, multifunctional aircraft, designed in 1947. It could be operated from land airfields using either wheels or skis, as a waterplane with floats or even as an amphibian airplane that can land both on water and land. Seven aircraft of this type have been used in Finland, and some planes are still in use in Canada today.
The museum’s plane (OH-MVL) was used by the Finnish Border Guards for almost four decades, from 1951 until 1988. It was donated to the Finnish Aviation Museum after being decommissioned, in January 1988.
