Welcome to Café des Artistes!
Let’s get into this charming little café and get something to drink! Here at Café des Artistes you get the feeling you are a poet or a philosopher of the 60:s so a glass of red wine or a beer is a good choice and what most people would go for here.

As you can see, this is not a fancy cocktail bar for high-heeled clientele, but a cozy bar where everyone can come as they are, they might live next door or like us might just have happened to pop by during their visit to Luxembourg City. This is a place that anyone can fall in love with, and you can tell from the visitors that they represent all ages and kinds of people, which add to the great atmosphere!

Well, here we are, so lets look around the place; see the posters covering the ceiling? They are from musical events all over Europe and some of them have been here for decades, maybe even since the café opened back in 1968. During those years heels used to be popular all over Europe for men and women, I mean, who hasn’t heard of the plateau shoes of the crazy 70:s? Speaking of the 70:s - this used to be the typical bar where cigarette smoke lay thick as London fog, but thank god smoking in bars is prohibited here in Luxembourg since some years ago, so that we can actually enjoy the great atmosphere of this unique place. If you are here on a Saturday or Wednesday night you would already have noticed the man by the candlelit piano, playing tune after tune of typical folk songs.

So enjoy this utterly charming place, together with the diverse crowd, until its time to move on to the next sight on our tour.
