Sealed in this beautiful clock of the British master James Cox are metaphors and allegories of time – a rooster and an owl. The tail of the peacock is gold on the front (the sun) and silver behind (the moon). Traditionally, images connected with the swift passing of time are used to decorate clocks. Here's some of the sayings about time in different languages:
- Que o tempo leve apenas o necessario e me traga o suficiente / Take only the time necessary and give me just enough
- Timpul fuge / Time flies
- Mindennek megvan a maga ideje / To everything there is a season
- Čas je zlato / Time is gold
- Dok sam razmišljao o prošlosti i sanjao o budućnosti, nisam ni primijetio da je sadašnjost prošla pored mene. / While I was thinking about the Past and dreaming about the Future, I did not notice that the beautiful Present walked past me.
