Audiotour Dubno Castle

Cannons.There are cannons of Dubno Castle of the 17th century in the Castle yard. The Castle arsenal was replenished due to a foundry workshop named liudvysarnia where cannons, cannonballs, balls, and different household items were casted. This great enterprise were in Dubno but where exactly is unknown. The Prince of Ostroh marked cannons with his coat of arms. There are notes about “Cannons with the coat of arms of the Prince” made in Dubno in the register of treasures of Dubno Castle in 1616. 41 big and small cannons were mentioned in the register. A fragment of cannon with the coat of arms of the Ostroh Princes found in the Ikva River near the Castle is in the museum exhibition. The cannons of Dubno Castle participated in many glorious battles. There was a magnificently decorated cannon dated from 1621 and the Moscow cannons taken as trophies in the Orsha Battle in 1514 in service with Dubno Castle of the Ostroh Princes. Two brass candlesticks casted in 1575 by a master from Hdansk Luka Frideliant by order of Prince Vasyl-Kostiantyn could be made in Dubno foundry workshop. There is a bell of the Transfiguration Monastery casted in Dubno in 1572 in the museum.
