Audiotour Terme romane di via Terracina

This itinerary was created by the pupils of the Vittorio Emanuele II in Naples, as part of a permanent educational project "The school adopts a monument", promoted by the Napoli Novantanove Foundation. The school was awarded the Starry Gold Medal This project was included in the "National Atlas of Monuments Adopted" and the "Official Medal" and was awarded the Starry Gold Medal.  The project for the adoption of the Terme di Via Terracina began in the school year 2015-2016 and, in the following years, was enhanced through specific in-depth studies with the reading of articles in newspapers and periodicals related to its history up to the most recent excavations and restorations, led by Dr. Marco Giglio, President of the Neapolitan Archaeological Group. Through the project we promoted the Fuorigrotta district  which is the area in which the school is located This opportunity has made our pupils aware of the importance of observing our territory  more carefully to see monuments and sites of historical and cultural interest that had been completely ignored sofar. The Project was divided in different steps in order to make pupils acquire, through an alternative teaching approach, cross-curricular skills as part of a global training course. With the help of explanatory panels and brochures in Italian, French, English and Spanish, the students took visitors to discover the thermal complex of Via Terracina, on the occasion of the AMA day and May of the monuments. Interesting activities such as the creation of the logo and the website "Let's stop at the spa, we support the spa", as well as a 3D model for the blind, have enhanced the pupils’ creativity, improved their technological skills and strengthen their civic sense.

The itinerary includes the history of the Terme di via Terracina, which came to light during the excavations for the construction of the Mostra d'Oltremare, a general and analytical description of the thermal site and its heating system, and finally the description of the wonderful mosaics, we find on the site
