Audiotour Greenmount West Community

As the Greenmount West neighborhood has been transformed through the development of the Station North Arts District, housing prices have rapidly increased, and many long-term residents have been forced out by higher rents.  Remaining families see the neighborhood shifting around them, sometimes in ways that are hostile to its long-standing, largely African American, population.  In this project, youth at Greenmount West Community Center (GWCC) are producing monologues and media chronicling the rapid gentrification of the neighborhood and resisting those changes through their own creative placemaking.
