There are about 250 of them left. Four centuries ago, the Mansi, or Voguls, inhabited a vast territory. Their lands stretched from the modern borders of the Middle to the Northern Urals. They were brave warriors and taiga hunters. Their knowledge and wisdom came from the depths of centuries. The ancestors of the Mansi are the ancient Ural tribes and nomads from the Middle East. The worldview, lifestyle, rituals of the Mansi bear the features of two completely different cultures. The cultures of sedentary taiga hunters and the cultures of nomads following their herds across the land.
We invite you to the historical and ethnographic park "Land of Ancestors" to get acquainted with the amazing culture of the ancient people. The park is located 36 km north of Yekaterinburg in the valley of the Shitovsky Istok River. The collections presented in the museums of the park were collected during 13 years by research expeditions.
The author of the route is Berdyugina Natalya Yuryevna, the winner of the Competition for the best tourist route in the Sverdlovsk region.
