Running from the village of Sodo to Sant’Egidio, this path was named after the seventeen wheat and olive-mills which until recent years dotted the banks of the Rio di Loreto; only few of these are still there and only one is still running and used to process olives to this day. The path winds its way by the superb Villa Venuti in Catrosse to climb the hillside through olive-groves and scrubland passing by the Eremo delle Celle ai Cappuccini and eventually continuing to Sant’Egidio.

The paper trail maps do not match the maps or key points on the app. The paper maps from MAEC are very small scale and next to useless without strong orienteering skills. There are no GPS coordinates or map grids. There are so many amazing walking trails that will lead to these points but the trails are not marked and it is easy to get misdirected. Sadly, Google Maps is no help because it only shows the road route to get to the points of interest.
