Audiotour JVM Second Floor Exhibition Hall

The Victor Talking Machine Company was founded in 1901, by Delaware’s native son, Eldridge Reeves Johnson. The museum chronicles Johnson's significant contributions which pioneered the development of the sound-recording industry.

The museum provides onsite parking, restrooms and seating. Although, the second floor is not handicap accessible. This virtual museum provides a tour of the exhibition hall with images, narrative and audio.

The second-floor exhibit hall of the Johnson Victrola Museum is largely through the generous donation of Dr. Lynwood Heiges. 
 
The Heiges Collection takes you on a journey through the evolution and variations in the mechanics of early sound technology.

We begin with displays of early devices and move on to see one of the largest collections of Victor Victrola cabinets. Featuring the various styles and designs. From everyday to elaborate and even one with a secret compartment!
