Über das Museum

This guide represents a part of a larger work made up of three schools which networking  were winner of the national competition launched by the Ministry of Education: "Educational Projects in the museums”, issued circular no. 11370 of 12 November 2015.

The project idea, realized with the full involvement of  the students of ITET "Federico II" of Capua (Headmaster Giovanni Di Cicco - network leader school), the Comprehensive school "E. Fieramosca" of Capua (Headmaster Patrizia Comune) and the Comprehensive school "Don Milani-Gravante" Grazzanise (Headmaster Roberta Di Iorio), starts from the need to educate young people to develop a "way of behaving" summed up in the expression "active citizenship”. Being active citizens, in fact, means to know and protect our traditions contributing significantly to the enhancement and development of the artistic and cultural heritage of our land as a precious element and essential component of the identity of the people.

ITET "Federico II" has its headquarters in Capua, a city that was chosen as the venue for hosting the most significant example of cultural heritage of the Italian civilization of Campania: The CAMPANO MUSEUM.

And the Museum has represented for our young people a "new place" of learning and beyond. In fact, the students of the three schools involved in the training, were not only the users of a priceless treasure, but also the protagonists of  the disclosure of the heritage it holds .

"You cannot love what you do not know". By sharing this aphorism we started to make the Museum guidebooks that cater to different educational needs: the scholar and art connoisseur, as well as  the youngest people who for the first time meet the "place of the muses and custodians of the arts", or the young student who very often approaches the visit inattentively.

The objective was, therefore, achieved informing  through the use of different languages and tools that can "talk" to an audience of visitors that we hope can become, also thanks to our contribution, increasingly wide.

The work, created and shared thanks to the availability and the help of all the staff of the museum whose contribuition we would like to acknowledge here, has produced the following materials:

§  Guide to the collections of the Museum

The guide realized with the valuable contribution of materials supplied by the Director of the Museum will appeal to connoisseurs of art and an older audience.

§   The "Living museum"guide

Aimed at students of secondary schools, trace two tours: the mind and the heart ones enriching the narrative of some of the most significant finds in the Museum, with anecdotes and curiosities related to moments of the life of the time to make the visit even more pleasant and "intriguing".

This guide has been translated by our students in three languages: English, French and German.

In addition, students of the "Federico II", have trained to be "guides" prepared to play the role of facilitators, recording the narration of audio guides, which will remain at the museum, in different languages.

§  "Welcome to the house of the Muses" guide

Aimed at children of primary and secondary school level, it was created by the students of the two comprehensive schools included in the network using the language of comics.

§  Museum to touch and feel" (for a barrier-free culture)

People with disabilities have not been forgotten. In fact it was set up a space for visually impaired ones with three-dimensional works and tactile media to "show" them the  Museum.

Finally, to improve the knowledge and learning by schools that are going to prepare for the visit, boards and interactive educational games have been made that can be found in a teaching  area on the Museum website.
