Porte Chevalier
The demolition of dilapidated houses built in the 19th century allowed to uncover and display a medieval fortification. Preserved at an elevation of more than 8 m, the Porte Chevalier controlled access to Bouvignes from the north, in the 15th century. Corbels support the outer wall of a walkway. An arch, of which the base remains, overlooked the doorway. This complex is now listed. To the left of the passageway, a horseshoe-shaped bastion helped defend the entrance. The footprint of this bastion is now visible in the concrete floor.
Take rue Barbier for a few metres and take the passage on your right.
