Welcome to Cornell Tech, a new kind of urban campus. Opened in Fall 2017, the Cornell Tech campus on Roosevelt Island in New York City is at once a refuge in the wild and a place for discovery, alive with debate, both intellectually and physically. The campus architecture isn’t just a backdrop for what is going on inside the buildings. It is, itself, a model for innovation that inspires and keeps our high aspirations on track.
Cornell Tech brings together faculty, business leaders, tech entrepreneurs, and students in a catalytic environment to produce visionary results grounded in significant needs that will reinvent the way we live in the digital age. Designed by a team of award-winning architects according to the highest sustainable design principles, the campus facilitates the interaction between academia and industry that‘s central to Cornell Tech‘s mission.
- 1 Bloomberg Center
- 2 The Café at Cornell Tech
- 3 Campus Plaza
- 4 The Tata Innovation Center
- 5 The House
- 6 Jacobs Technion- Cornell Institute
Since 2 minutes snippets make up the tour, my recommendation is to add more - ultimately in other languages as well. Summary details on the solar arrays on Bloomberg and Tata Centers would be one to record, in addition to wall and window details of Passive House/Haus. As others buildings are planned is anybody looking into PV glass? Seems logical as a complement to generstion, for all open to east-south-west.
That audio tour was not at all comprehensive. I learned much more by reading online. When can more professional people get a real tour to explain especially the technicalities of the passive house? Should that be ‘Passive Haus?
The audiotour, should have different languages to choose for visitors. Also along with the audiotour there should be more pictures of the campus, to include the murals. There should an easy way for the elderly who is not tech savvy to arrange a tour.
