The main cemetery in Virginia City is called Silver Terrace, managed by local non-profit The Comstock Cemetery Foundation. For years it has been the CCF's goal to do a better job of sharing its story with the thousands of visitors it hosts each year. As it is located in a National Landmark District it would be inappropriate to litter the landscape with multiple signs in order to tell the tales of those that lived and died here over 160 years ago. With the help of a local Eagle Scout project we have been able to create this audio tour.

29 Stops and 25 voices will help us to share the history of the landscape and its people. And, we know our visitors - you can shut it off if you have to leave, skip around from spot to spot and frankly, just customize the tour to fit your level of interest. Enjoy and be safe…

This was wonderful. The highlight of our trip to VC. So entertaining and you can stop and start and break it up, but we did it in two parts. Yea to the scout that did it and all the actors-volunteer or not, well done!

The tour is a fascinating look at local history and nineteenth century life and migration patterns. The personal tidbits are performed well and the app makes the tour easy to follow and allows you to customize the pace to your speed and interests. As a former scoutmaster, I’m additionally delighted to see that some of the work was an Eagle project. Best part of our VC visit!

Didn't see the brochure with the audio tour info on the way in. Picked it up on the way out when we stopped to donate. Couldn't download it at the time, but listened to it later. It was still valuable because we got to hear the stories behind what we had already seen. I can't wait to go back and see the parts we missed. Maybe there will be even more stories by then! Thank you so much!
