Self-portrait. 1944, oil on canvas, 53×53, family property
On the "Self-portrait" painted in 1944, the painter's young posture is full of restlessness. It seems like his eyes in thoughts are out of the harmonious rhythm of creative process. His open neck is engirding the white shirt's collar, which two ends are connected by a tie. This is the first and only time that this artistic attribute is used by the painter in self-portrait series.
