What if you could meet everyone on an entire Baltimore city block, in less than an hour?

Radio producer Aaron Henkin and music producer Wendel Patrick are sharing the stories of Baltimore in a way that's never been heard before, and this is your invitation to join the adventure.

As you travel to the 600 block of Deepdene Road in North Baltimore’s Tuxedo Park neighborhood, the sounds of city traffic give way to the natural harmony of cicadas, birds, and frogs on this tree-lined residential block, nestled up against the city’s Stony Run Trail. The stories here are a study of families in all their varieties: families with same-sex parents, interracial parents, single parents, and adoptive parents, as well as empty-nesters, divorcees, and newlyweds.

  3. 1 My mother just moved in with me. We’re both hot-tempered. Let’s just put it that way.
  4. 2 The hummingbirds come here, and you can get this close-up view. They’re like little jewels.
  5. 3 My DJ name fits me because no matter how the light hits, you’re going to get something different every time.
  6. 4 I’m a stay-at-home dad. With the cost of daycare, it really was kind of a wash, for my salary.
  7. 5 I coproduce this series, Out of the Blocks, and coincidentally, I used to live on this block. It’s very… Meta.
  8. 6 I hope he’s a good man, and I hope he’s good to women. I don’t think he really has a choice, growing up in a two-mom household.
  9. 7 You have to have a little imperfection.
  10. 8 We talk pretty openly in our family about what color everybody is. I think everybody should have those conversations, particularly a family like ours.
  11. 9 I received the Holy Spirit, and I never felt anything like that before. He took alcohol away from me and tobacco and valium.
  12. 10 Cricket is a three-year-old Doberman. She’s a well-decorated competitor. She is an athlete.
  13. 11 I write until my eyes are crossed. I just listen to the words in my head and go with it because I can type pretty fast.
  14. 12 Between two people a thousand miles away, there’s a red ribbon that connects them.
