Self-portrait. 1965, oil on canvas, 130×102, EIG
The artist painted a self-portrait against the background of a picturesque scenery. He depicted himself standing half-turned in front of the painter’s case and absorbed in thoughts. His image and the nature are interconnected through the color palette. The author feels inside himself the power of native mountains and compares his creative power with the national spiritual values, in this case with the Tatev monastery, which we can see in the distance.
