• The stadium was built from scratch for the World Cup in 2014. Pernambuco is part of a larger project for a new city center called City Cup.
• The stadium is built on a vacant lot located about 20 kilometers from the city center. The construction cost over 590 million Brazilian reais. The total cost of the complex that houses Pernambuco is over 2 billion Brazilian reais.
• The team of the architect Daniel Fernandez also designed the stadiums for Ponte Preta and Gremio, and renovated the Maracanã.
• In addition to football, it is designed as a venue for a variety of sports events, conferences, shows, fairs and concerts.
• Inside the arena is a shopping center, restaurants, bars, conference hall, cinema and hotel.

• The facade of Pernambuco is made of a special material with LED backlighting that allows the arena to change color.
• Photovoltaic panels on Pernambuco account for 20% of the stadium's electricity needs.
• The grass for the football field has been specially cultivated for the climate of this region of Brazil and is able to withstand prolonged drought and high temperatures.
• Thanks to the unusual design, no matter where a spectator finds himself in the arena he can still make it to his sector.
