The MiG-23 Jet Fighter

One of the most interesting exhibits among the military vehicles is the Soviet MiG-23 supersonic jet fighter. Its first flight was in 1967. Two years later its exploitation started. The plane was one of the last projects of the aircraft designer Artem Mikoyan who died during testing.

The fighter was purposed for attacking the air targets as well as the ground ones. Its main armament consists of missiles, guns and bombs. The MiG-23 fighter was used by the states of the socialist bloc. It has been in the numerous armed conflicts of the 1970s – 1990s including Iran-Iraq war and Operation Desert Storm. Nowadays, most of exploiting states withdrew from service the MiG-23 fighter.
