One of the most infamous movie scenes (Chainsaw Threat) from one of the most famous movies filmed on Miami Beach took place in the building to the right of the Beacon Hotel located at 699 Ocean Drive. The 1983 thriller Scarface starring Al Pacino and Michelle Pfeiffer was about a Cuban immigrant (Tony Montana played by Pacino) turned drug lord and his brutal climb to the top of a Miami cartel and his subsequent fall due to greed. The movie title was lifted from the nickname of now deceased crime boss Al Capone who is covered in segment four.
