Over het museum

The Museum of Mediterranean Masks is located in Sardinia and precisely in the historic region of Barbagia, in the province of Nuoro, about an hour and a half from Olbia airport and two hours from Cagliari airport.

The museum offers many cultural services. In addition to its own collection of masks and costumes, the Museum is equipped with a multivision room that offers a video in English, French, German, Italian that tells the story of the tradition of the Mamuthones and Issohadores.

Along the way, you can experience the dressing and the parade through immersive footage usable with OCULUS technology. Guided tours, educational workshops, local experiences (visits to wine cellars, farms, traditional shops), conferences, readings and shows are some of the cultural services offered to an ever-growing public during the year.

The museum was refurbished in 2024 and is preparing to welcome new costumes from Europe.

    Museo con un ottimo percorso espositivo che raccoglie tradizioni locali e del mediterraneo. Personale qualificato e cordiale. Video introduttuvo al significato delle maschere coinvolgente e intenso. Un vero gioiellino museale gestito da associazioni locali. Audioguida pratica e scorrevole in varie lingue.
