The son of Tigran the Great,  Artavazd 2nd (born 31st BC), reigned in 55-34(from fifty-five to thirty- four). On August 34 BC, when Roman general Antonios invaded Armenia to move to Artashat, the Armenian king was eager to save the country and surrender to the enemy. Romanians take chained Artavazd 2nd (second) to  Alexandria’s  triumph, then on September 31st  BC (thirty-first) , the Armenian king was conquered by the order of Antonios and Cleopatra[1]:.|
In the 1980’s (one thousand nine hundred eighty) version, Artavazd is standing in the palace of Cleopatra at full age, full of inner dignity, royal and proud. Cleopatra, sitting on the throne, has a ridiculous posture of the ruler. The rhythm of the golden-rich shells of the woman has been greatly reflected in the luminaires. The interior of the palace is pictured with  the mysterious halfway and curtain. The dark brown saturation of the color gamma is complemented by a strong emphasis on the color of the two main heroes, the diagonal psychological collapse of the hemisphere (especially the combination of silver and white blush of Artavazd king’s clothes).
The second work of the same year is the most acute psychological solution of this topic. The artist prefers insignificant details pointing to the royal atmosphere, which are barely outlined around heroes. By maintaining the basic schematic structure of the Cleopatra and Artavazd figures and chapters, Isabekyan scatters the dimensional and descriptive details of the figures by means of painting plastic and light, expressing the Cleopatra's dominant position on the throne, his slight tendency towards the Armenian King and reporting to him the most active and main psychological Internal stress, with psychological tension.
The Artavazd is symbolic of its social position, the people's destiny and their personal dignity, with deep awareness of the particular situation and the stabile  situation of his and his family. In the canvases of  "Artavazd and Cleopatra" important is the role of the individual in different situations, his "judgment", the right to vote, and the sense of duty.

Here are some examples of this topic.
[1]It is remarkable, that later, one of the four accusations against Markos  Antonios, was considered the arrest of the Armenian King Artavazd (Armenian Soviet Encyclopedia, 1976, Volume 2, p.144).
