Homo Ergaster
We once again jump forward one million years, until the time in which the Homo species begins to expand. Coinciding with a climate change, the fossil register distinguishes taxa that disappear and others that appear with a new specialisation and anatomy: the Homo ergaster. As tall as modern human beings with a similar build, they looked very different from their ancestors. In the backdrop of physical changes and the expansion of the cranial vault, new patterns of behaviour were successfully developed. TheHomo ergaster is the first individual capable of moving away from the main sources of supply to look for new resources. A new range of food and raw materials lead it to colonise new territories and to travel around the continents. The Homo ergaster becomes the first migratory biped hominid inside and outside of Africa. This group, also known as Homo erectus, invented conquests and mastered fire.
