Transepts
As we pass through the nave, we reach the central area of the temple, the transept. The naves of the transept are located on either side, linking the space between the Nativity and Passion façades. The transept is 30 meters wide and will be crowned by five towers: four dedicated to the Evangelists and a dome dedicated to Joseph. The towers of the evangelists will present several different elements that symbolize them. For example, they will be topped by their respective figures according to Christian iconography. So the tower of St. John will have an eagle; that of St. Mark, a lion; St. Matthew, an angel; and St. Luke, an ox. You will also be able to see gargoyles on these towers with figures relating to the evangelists. The dome of Jesus, in turn, will be the most spectacular part of the temple and will be topped by a huge four-armed cross covered with glass that will shine during the day with the sun, and at night powerful beams of light will emerge from each arm. Inside, this dome dedicated to Jesus will be structured on three levels, representing the phrase of Christ: "I am the Way and the Truth and the Life". In total, this transept will measure 45 meters wide.
Another aspect regarding the construction of the interior of the basilica is that I used a basic 7.5 meter module, which for me was the ideal measure, the perfect ratio given by nature. Thus, the total length of the temple is 90 meters (7.5x12), the transept is 60 meters (7.5x8), the total width of the temple is 45 meters (7.5x6) and the width of the transept, as we have seen, is 30 meters (7.5x4).
Continuing with the religious symbolism of the temple, this is as beset on the outside as it is on the inside, since as you are seeing for yourself I did not leave any element to chance, but rather everything is precisely calculated, designed and arranged, with both the parts that make up the basilica and its columns having various ecclesiastical concepts. The path from the Glory façade to the apse symbolizes the Way of Humanity; the path that joins the Nativity façade with the Passion façade represents the Way of Jesus Christ; and the cloister represents the Way of the Church. In turn, the four columns of the transept are dedicated to the evangelists; the twelve ones surrounding them represent the apostles, with those of St. Peter and St. Paul located between the transept and apse standing out, joining the triumphal arch with the Calvary; and the rest of the bishops and other church representatives.
