    THE ITINERARY

The Path retraces the salient stages of the battle of Ceresole d'Alba on April 14, 1544, in which about 30,000 soldiers took part. The protagonists of the clash were the French army of Francis I and the army of the Imperials of Charles V, who challenged each other to obtain hegemony in Italian territory. The clash ended with the victory of the French army of Francis I.
The route aims to tell the battle and highlight the close link between the territory of Ceresole d’Alba and its extraordinary history, full of vicissitudes.

The path winds its way through the Ceresole countryside, on low-traffic roads or between fields of corn and hazelnut groves. Most of the territory of the municipality is characterized by the presence of humid soils that have favored the formation of artificial lakes commonly called fish ponds or "tampe".

The path begins in the historic center of the town of Ceresole d'Alba, where, in p.za Vittorio Emanuele II 2, you can visit the MuBatt - Museum of the Battle of Ceresole d'Alba from 1544: among the halls of the exhibition space, the visitor will be able to undertake a journey to discover the battle, admiring the testimonies and historical relics preserved preciously over the centuries.
