So the four Musketeers paved the way for tennis in France, and the country decided to build a stadium capable of accommodating visitors from around the world, one that would reflect the national prestige of tennis. The centre court at Roland Garros was constructed in 1928.
Centre Court ranks 13th in capacity of all the world’s tennis arenas; it can hold about 15 thousand spectators. And unlike the anonymous courts of Wimbledon, the Centrr Court at Roland Garros got its name in 2001 - Court Philippe Chatrier.
