Orlov Paleontological museum of the Borissiak Paleontological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow is among the largest paleontological museums in the world. Its history goes back to the “Kunstkamer", the first public museum in Russia, founded by Peter the Great in St. Petersburg in 1716.
