The Netherlands Open Air Museum in Arnhem is a national museum dedicated to Dutch culture and history
The Open Air Museum was founded in 1912 and is situated in the woods near Arnhem. It focuses on the culture associated with the everyday lives of ordinary people. The exposition includes authentic houses, windmills, farms, and factories from different parts of the Netherlands. Our mission is to preserve history and culture through capturing the attributes of people’s lives from different time periods, and the museum is full of stories which bring the old buildings to life and take you on a journey through time.
