In the academic year of 1925-1926 the Department of Biology was founded within the framework of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Yerevan State University. In 1930 the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology and the Faculty of Geography emerged. Eventualy these major University branches of Natural Sciences were unitied into Faculty.
