The Museum preserves and exhibits objects related to the natural world, science and technology grouped into these sections are: mineralogy (rocks and minerals), topography (surveying instruments from the mid-nineteenth century to the twentieth century), history of the topography (reproductions of working instruments for measuring soil during the late Antiquity to the Renaissance eras), computing machines (end of XIX - around 1970), educational and scientific models (1920 - 1970), history of the design (1950 - 1980 with an extensive documentary section), and science (chemistry, physics, botany, etc., with instruments from 1864 to approximately 1970). Due to the nature and origin of the objects the Museum offers a special glimpse into the unique history of the region and city of Caserta from 1863 to today. The Museum was inaugurated in May 2004. The permament exhibition is hosted in the high school ITS "M. Buonarroti", in Caserta. The Museum is recognised as a place of regional interest. In December 2008, it developed a growing increase in its collections, the exhibition space and above all, the promotion and dissemination of the works, thanks to students at the ‘dell’Istituto Buonarroti’ who perform the tasks of reception and cooperate actively in the function of events and promotional activities. Authorized by Regione Campania (L.R. 12/2005) since 2008.
