Café de Paris Monte-Carlo
The Café de Paris is a part of the Monte-Carlo Casino complex and if you want to stop for a drink, a snack or a meal in old school Monaco style then this is the perfect place to do it. This restaurant and bar really is in the centre of the action, whether you want to sit and people watch or take in the Grand Prix from the terrace during the racing season. It has an air of a Parisian bistro and the Belle Époque architecture gives the restaurant a sense of glamour that is an essential part of any trip to Monaco.
With its location on the legendary Place du Casino, the Café de Paris feels a lot like the heart of Monaco and is the ideal way to kick off an evening in the city with a glass of champagne or a Kir. It is open from breakfast time to late in the evening, hosting a constant flow of guests from the casino, visitors who have wandered in looking for lunch or those who have come specifically to dine here because it’s one of Monaco’s must-visit spots. You can take a table in the restaurant itself and enjoy the warm, intimate and buzzy atmosphere or head for the Parisian terrace, which is open all year round.
The menu at the Café de Paris is largely Mediterranean and very French – dishes such as grilled sole and deserts like crème brulee are typical - and the drinks menu is vast. If you’re a cocktail fan then this is the perfect place to indulge, as the cocktail menu is large and varied. As you might expect from an establishment so associated with the casino, the Café de Paris has its own gaming room, which many consider to be a warm up to heading on to the casino after drinks and dinner. The Café de Paris can be expensive, depending on which part of it you eat in and what you choose to order. If you want to keep it cheap then stick to the pavement café area and stay away from the more extravagant dishes.
