Audioguía 0.4. The Twenties

Crowds in Ljubljana welcomed the end of the war and the founding of the State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs on October 29, 1918. In the national enthusiasm, all emancipatory desires seemed to be fulfilled. Expectations about the new state borders did not materialize, though. The new State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs was a confederative republic, comprising the southern Slavic territories of the collapsed monarchy and was not internationally recognized. On December 1, 1918, it merged with the Kingdom of Serbia into a geographically and politically diverse, multinational state, called the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes.
