Avtograd Cultural Centre
The building of Avtograd cultural centre, formerly known as the Palace of Culture, Arts and Creativity, is a monument to the architectural style of the Soviet modernism and is one of the most important showplaces of the city. It is a collective work of well-known architects Boris Rubanenko and Boris Brandenburg.
Construction was finalized in 1988. Currently, the building is occupied by one of the city’s major cultural institutions. The interior design of the cultural centre is furbished in palace-style, with use of granite, travertine, marble mosaics, wall ceramics, parquet-work, and anodized aluminum. The halls are decorated with murals made with Florentine mosaic and maiolica techniques.
