Парк Йылдыз

If you want to see what a park of a former palace looks like then ensure you make your way over to Yildiz Park. The park is located between the palaces of Yildiz and Ciragan and is one of the largest public parks in Istanbul. A great place to escape to if the crowds are overwhelming and the weather is impossibly hot.
At the time of the Byzantine, the park was actually a forest in which sultans liked to hunt from. Following the construction of the palace the surrounding neighborhood began to grow.
The park today is a living piece of history, with plants and trees from every part of the world dating from the Otoman era.
In the grounds surrounding the palace you will find a factory, which was built in 1894. It was built to make Turkish porcelain and to protect the legacy of the industry against Europe. It’s now a museum but it does still produce pottery, both modern and Ottoman pieces
