About the museum

Greetings! Welcome to the audio guide for the Russian Orthodox Church of Geneva, the Cathedral of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.
The cathedral is located on one of the hills of the city, and its golden domes can be seen from afar like lit candles, which are a symbol of ardent prayer.
Do you know about the connection between the location of the cathedral and the English poet, Lord Byron? Or that the story of the cathedral begins not in Geneva, but in Bern?
The answers to these questions, as well as many other interesting and informative stories and facts, can be found in our audio guide. Have we piqued your interest? Then start the guide and get ready to plunge into the wonderful world of history, architecture and Orthodox culture.

My parents were married in this lovely church and I, in turn, was married in this very church. The Russian Orthodox ceremony was breathtaking and who knew this church's amazing story and exquisite icons.
