Audio tour Summary
The main cemetery in Virginia City is called Silver Terrace, managed by local non-profit The Comstock Cemetery Foundation. For years it has been the CCF's goal to do a better job of sharing its story with the thousands of visitors it hosts each year. As it is located in a National Landmark District it would be inappropriate to litter the landscape with multiple signs in order to tell the tales of those that lived and died here over 160 years ago. With the help of a local Eagle Scout project we have been able to create this audio tour.
29 Stops and 25 voices will help us to share the history of the landscape and its people. And, we know our visitors - you can shut it off if you have to leave, skip around from spot to spot and frankly, just customize the tour to fit your level of interest. Enjoy and be safe…

This is a great and easy tour to follow. we have been to the Silver Terrace Cemetery several times but actually knowing who some of these people were and how they died really brought the history alive. I hope more headstones are added in the future. To the Eagle Scout whose this possible, WELL DONE! you should be very proud of this accomplishment

This tour was one of a kind! Amazing stories of the past told while we stood beside the graves. It gave life to those in the past. I would recommend this tour. Thank you to the Eagle Scout who made this possible.

Really enjoyed having access to the history of the cemetery and the inhabitants. So interesting. VC has so much history and grateful for the opportunity to experience it. I didn't get the entire tour in. Looking forward to my next visit.
