Grant Cottage is a New York State Historic Site located on Mt. McGregor just south of the Adirondack Mountains. The Cottage served as the final residence of the general and U.S. President Ulysses S. Grant. Managed by cooperation between the New York State Department of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation and the Friends of Grant Cottage, a nonprofit organization determined to preserve and share the story of Ulysses S. Grant in his final days on Mt. McGregor as he completed his memories in the company of his family, battling a vicious throat cancer through it all.
