The Egyptian fruit bat

This species of fruit bats lives in West Asia, Egypt, western, eastern and southern Africa. The fur colour of these animals varies from dark brown to blue-gray. The males have more pronounced collar of yellow fur. Main nutrition for the Egyptian fruit bat is juicy tropical fruits, pollen and nectar of flowers. This is the only speies of fruit bats which uses high-frequency sounds for echolocation. This allows them to orientate themselves in dark caves. In the afternoon, unlike other fruit bats, they gather in dark caves. To combat the cold the animals gather together what enable to maintain body heat more efficiently.
