Audio tour Architecture

The Palace of Fine Arts is one of the most iconic buildings in Mexico City for its architectural wealth, functionality, and monumentality.

The history of its construction is tied to the sociopolitical conditions of Mexico in the early decades of the twentieth century. Its construction was divided into three stages: 1) starting construction based on the project designed by Adamo Boari (1904–1916); 2) suspending the works and conditioning the space for multiple uses (1917–1929); and 3) restarting and concluding the work under the direction of Federico Mariscal (1930–1934).

In this audio guide you can get to know more about the architecture and decorative elements of the Palace, which was built in two different styles that reflect the transition from the age of Porfirio Díaz to the postrevolutionary period.
